Non-surgical Rhinoplasty

Non-surgical rhinoplasty · in clinic in Milton Keynes

Non-surgical nose job in Milton Keynes. A smoother line, without surgery.

A non-surgical nose job in Milton Keynes, also called a non-surgical rhinoplasty or liquid rhinoplasty. Small amounts of hyaluronic acid filler can make a bump less noticeable, lift a tip that droops, or make your profile look straighter. It starts with a consultation.

In clinic in Milton Keynes. Every nose is assessed at a consultation before any treatment.

You turn your head for a photo, and there it is.

The bump on the bridge. The tip that dips when you smile. You've looked at surgery, then at the recovery, the splint and the weeks of bruising, and closed the tab.

You'd like to know if there's a smaller step. Sometimes there is. Sometimes there isn't, and you'll hear that too.

Is this you?

Nod at a few of these and a consultation will tell you whether it's possible for your nose.

A bump on the bridge

It catches your eye every time you see your profile.

A drooping tip

The tip sits low, or points down.

A dip when you smile

Your tip pulls down every time you laugh.

An uneven line

A dip or a slight kink makes your nose look less straight.

Not ready for surgery

You don't want an operation, or the time off.

Wanting to see first

You'd like to see a straighter profile on your own face before thinking about anything bigger.

What it can and can't do

A non-surgical nose job adds volume to change the line of your nose. Filling the dip above and below a bump makes the bridge look straighter. Supporting the tip makes it look lifted.

It can't make your nose smaller or narrower, it can't fix a large hump or a nose bent by an injury, and it can't help your breathing. For those, surgery is the route. If that's what your nose needs, I'll tell you at the consultation.

What's used, and how it works

Your plan might use filler alone, or filler with anti-wrinkle injections.

Hyaluronic acid filler

A sugar your skin already makes, with its strands linked together into a gel so it lasts for months. For the nose, a firmer gel is used that holds its shape, placed in very small amounts along the bridge or at the tip.

Anti-wrinkle injections

Sometimes the tip drops when you smile because a small muscle at the base of the nose pulls it down. Anti-wrinkle injections can relax that muscle so the tip sits higher. Whether that suits you is decided together at your consultation. It takes a few days to work and wears off over months.

How long it lasts

Filler usually lasts 6 to 18 months, depending on the filler and the area. The nose moves very little, which may help filler there last towards the longer end. It fades gradually.

It can be dissolved

Hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with a dissolving enzyme, kept in the clinic. If the result isn't right, it can usually be dissolved. If a blood vessel is blocked, dissolving the filler quickly is the first emergency treatment, but damage to the skin or sight may not be reversible.

How it works

1

Consultation

An Aesthetics Consultation. Your nose, your medical history, any previous surgery or filler, and what you'd like to change.

2

Plan

What filler can change for your nose, what it can't, and the risks. If filler isn't the right choice, you hear that here.

3

Treat

In clinic in Milton Keynes. Small amounts, placed slowly, checking the skin colour and your comfort throughout.

4

Review

A Filler Review once any swelling has settled. We check the result and decide together whether anything else is needed.

Risks

The nose is one of the highest-risk areas of the face for filler. You should know why before you decide.

Common

Bruising, swelling, tenderness and redness. A small lump or an uneven area can happen, and filler can be adjusted or dissolved.

Why the nose is higher risk

Filler can block or press on a blood vessel. This is called a vascular occlusion. The blood vessels of the nose connect with the vessels that supply the eye, so in rare cases this can cause loss of vision, which can be permanent. It can also damage the skin of the nose, which may scar.

Infection or allergy

Uncommon. Spreading redness, heat, swelling that keeps growing, or a fever needs checking: tell the clinic straight away.

How the risk is managed

Every nose is assessed first. Only small amounts are used, placed slowly. The dissolving enzyme is kept in the clinic, and a written emergency protocol is followed if anything changes.

Who it isn't for

Anyone under 18: it is against the law to give filler for cosmetic reasons under that age. Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where the skin on the nose is infected. If you've had surgery on your nose, or permanent filler there, it is assessed case by case, and it may not be offered.

After treatment, act straight away if you notice: pain that gets worse instead of better, or skin on or around your nose that turns white, grey, blue or mottled. Contact the clinic immediately. If you can't reach the clinic straight away, go to A&E. Any change in your vision: call 999 straight away, then tell the clinic. Swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing: call 999.

Questions people ask me

About the treatment
Is a non-surgical nose job the same as a liquid rhinoplasty?

Yes. Non-surgical rhinoplasty, liquid rhinoplasty and non-surgical nose job are names for the same treatment: filler used to change the line of the nose.

What can it change?

It can smooth the look of a bump, lift a tip that droops, and make your profile look straighter.

Can it make my nose smaller?

No. Filler adds volume, so it can change the line of your nose but can't make it smaller. Making a nose smaller or narrower needs surgery.

Will it help my breathing?

No. It changes how your nose looks from the outside. Breathing problems need a different route.

Why are anti-wrinkle injections sometimes used too?

A small muscle at the base of the nose can pull the tip down when you smile. Anti-wrinkle injections can relax it so the tip sits higher; whether that suits you is decided together at your consultation.

Safety
Is a non-surgical nose job safe?

Serious complications are rare, but the nose is one of the highest-risk areas of the face for filler. That is why every nose is assessed first, small amounts are used, and the clinic follows a written emergency protocol.

Why is the nose higher risk?

Its blood vessels connect with the vessels that supply the eye. If filler blocks a vessel, it can, rarely, cause loss of vision, which can be permanent.

I've had surgery on my nose. Can I have it?

Possibly. Surgery changes the tissue and blood supply, so it is assessed case by case at your consultation, and it may not be offered.

Can it be reversed?

Usually. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme kept in the clinic. Damage from a blocked blood vessel may be permanent, which is why it is treated as an emergency.

What symptoms need urgent help?

Pain that gets worse, or skin that turns white, grey, blue or mottled: contact the clinic immediately, or go to A&E if you can't reach it straight away. Any change in your vision: call 999 straight away, then tell the clinic. Swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing: call 999.

Booking and after
Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. Every nose is assessed at an Aesthetics Consultation before any treatment.

Does it hurt?

Most people feel pressure and some stinging. Many fillers contain a local anaesthetic, and numbing cream can be used first.

How long does it last?

Filler usually lasts 6 to 18 months. The nose moves very little, which may help filler there last towards the longer end.

How is it followed up?

Through a Filler Review, once any swelling has settled. Book one sooner if something doesn't feel right.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. Filler for cosmetic reasons is only for people aged 18 and over. That is the law in England.

Ready when you are

Bring your questions, and a photo of your profile if you have one. We'll go through what's possible for your nose.
