One blood sample checked for IgE antibodies across 295 allergen markers, from foods and pollens to animals and moulds.
What it measures
295 markers: IgE antibodies to whole allergens and to individual allergen proteins (components), across foods, pollens, dust mites, animals, moulds, insect venoms and latex. Testing at component level helps show whether a reaction is more likely to be serious or mild, and whether 2 allergens are cross-reacting.
How to give your sample
- Finger-prick kit at home: £349. Posted to you with a tracked return envelope. Delivery is free.
- Blood draw at a clinic near you: £384. Choose from more than 40 clinics across the UK and give me 3 times that suit you, right here when you pick this option. I'll book it and confirm by email.
Before you test
Antihistamines do not affect this blood test, so you don't need to stop them.
Your results and your written report
Your results come back to me, usually 1 to 3 working days after the lab receives your sample (allergy testing can take longer). You get the lab report, which is the numbers and their ranges, and a written report from me. In it I read your results together and explain what they mean for you, including any that sit inside the range but still matter. It's a written report, not a consultation. The price includes the lab fee and your report.
Want to talk it through and turn it into a plan? Women can book a Women's Health Consultation (45 minutes, £125, online), or a Menopause Consultation if it's perimenopause or menopause. Men can book a Health & Wellness Consultation.
Who it's for
For you if you react to foods, or live with hay fever, asthma, eczema or hives, and want to know what you're sensitised to. A positive IgE result shows sensitisation, not always a true allergy, so I read your results alongside any symptoms you tell me about. A negative result does not prove a food is safe if it has caused a reaction before. This is not a food intolerance test.
Swelling of your lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing, after eating something or being stung, is an emergency: call 999. If it has happened before, you need an allergy clinic referral: ask your GP for it by name.
A test result is one part of the picture. It does not diagnose a condition on its own. If you have symptoms that worry you, they need to be checked.
