Female Hormones Blood Test

A blood test for the hormones that matter most in your 30s, 40s and 50s, including your thyroid.

What it measures

9 markers: the hormones that run your cycle (FSH, LH and oestradiol), testosterone, SHBG and the free androgen index, prolactin, and two thyroid markers (TSH and free T4).

How it works

A finger-prick kit is posted to you. You take a small blood sample at home and post it back to the lab. If you still have periods, we will tell you which day of your cycle to test on. Using hormonal contraception or HRT? Tell us before you test, as it changes how some results read.

A clinic blood draw, a nurse visit and the mini Health MOT are included at no extra cost in the Women's Health Audit and the Restored Programme.

Your results

Your results come back to the clinic, usually 3 to 5 days after the lab receives your sample. You receive a copy of your report. Delivery is free, and the price includes the kit and the lab fee. A consultation to go through your results and turn them into a plan is separate: book a Women's Health Consultation (30 minutes, longer if you need it, £95).

Who it is for

Women with changing periods, perimenopause symptoms, low libido, or anyone who wants a starting point before a consultation.

A test result is one part of the picture. It does not diagnose a condition on its own. If you have symptoms that worry you, please get them checked.
